Privacy Policy
Galaxy Cruiser collects the absolute minimum needed to run leaderboards — nothing more. No email, no name, no phone, no real-world identity, no location, no advertising IDs, no third-party trackers.
The short version
- The only thing that identifies you is a handle and flag you pick. We never ask for your real identity.
- Your scores and replays are stored so leaderboards and replay playback work.
- Usage is counted via anonymous analytics — no advertising IDs, no cross-app tracking.
- We don't sell, trade, or share data with advertisers. No behavioral ads, no cross-app tracking.
- Game Center and App Store features are handled by Apple; we don't control them.
What we collect
Account data (required to play)
- A handle and flag emoji you choose.
- An anonymous user ID we generate. We don't ask for your email, name, or phone.
- Scores and completion times per level.
- Replays of your runs — a compact recording of your inputs, used to validate scores and so other players can watch top runs.
This data is stored on our servers in the United States.
Analytics
Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics 4) is used to count anonymous usage events — session counts, which features get opened, which levels get completed. It runs with:
- Advertising ID (IDFA) disabled.
- Ad storage, ad user data, and ad personalization signals all disabled.
- App Tracking Transparency prompt intentionally skipped (we don't track across apps).
Game Center (opt-in)
If you sign into Apple's Game Center, the app uses it in two ways, both on your device only:
- Submitting scores to Apple's Game Center leaderboards for each level. The submission goes from your device directly to Apple — your Game Center display name and gamePlayerID are not sent to or stored on our servers.
- Showing a friends-only leaderboard inside the app: your Game Center friends' display names and their times for the current level are read from Apple onto your device and displayed there. This friends data is held only in memory (cached for up to 5 minutes) and is never sent to or stored on our servers.
Your Game Center display name is also used locally to suggest a default handle when you first register — only the handle you actually choose is sent to our servers.
Game Center is managed by Apple. You can decline or sign out at any time in iOS Settings → Game Center.
In-app purchases
If you buy the Supporter upgrade, Apple handles the transaction end-to-end. We receive a flag from Apple saying your account has Supporter status — we never see your payment details.
Children
The app's age rating is 4+. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children, and the handle/flag you pick doesn't require you to share who you are.
Your choices
- Stop analytics: uninstall the app. There's no in-app toggle today.
- Delete your account and data: email us at the address below and we'll remove your record (handle, scores, replays) within 30 days.
- Port your data: email us to request a JSON export of everything we have on you.
EU, UK, and Swiss users

Legal basis for processing:
- Your handle, flag, scores, and replays are processed to provide the game service you asked for (GDPR Article 6(1)(b) — performance of a contract).
- Anonymous usage analytics are processed under our legitimate interest in understanding which features are used (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). No advertising or profiling takes place.
International transfers: Our servers are in the United States. Transfers rely on AWS's Standard Contractual Clauses and AWS's participation in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Your rights: in addition to deletion and export above, you can ask to access, correct, restrict, or object to processing of your data, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (for example, the ICO in the UK, CNIL in France, or BfDI in Germany). Email us to exercise any of these — we'll respond within 30 days.
